The Firm

The construction industry has a key role to play in creating more sustainable places in which future generations will want to live, work and play. However, how we treat with issues such as climate change and social development influences the success and sustainability of such developments. Shidaa Consulting believes infrastructural development must be viewed holistically. The diversity of our consultants, their skills, expertise along with their creative, enthusiastic personalities, enquiring minds and creative flair allows us to create part of this future and maintain our innovative edge.

Our directors have experience working with regional government agencies and Multilateral Development Banks such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the Caribbean Development Bank, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, the Government of Montserrat, UN Women, UNDP, ECLAC and CARICOM in areas such as project management, procurement and contract administration, strategic planning, policy development, results-based programme management, monitoring & evaluation, poverty reduction, social impact assessments, governance, disaster risk reduction and climate change.

Lyndon Bayne

Lyndon is the managing director of Shidaa Consulting Ltd. and a director of Shidaa Sustainable Development Solutions Ltd. He has over fourteen years international experience and has work in Antigua & Barbuda, Trinidad & Tobago and the United Kingdom in a variety of senior management positions providing vision, leadership, management and technical advice. Lyndon has a wealth of experience accumulated over the years in providing project management services for the design and construction of facilities ranging from Early Childhood Care and Educational Centres to primary and secondary schools, housing projects, sporting and recreational facilities and commercial buildings.

He believes that the construction industry has a key role to play in creating more sustainable places in which future generations will want to live, work and play. However, this cannot occur without analyzing both the socio-economic and environmental challenges faced by societies along with their infrastructural needs. Consequently, Shidaa Consulting also has the skillset necessary to analyze the social-economic topography. Lyndon supports the global movement for the sustainable design of the built environment hence his involvement in the United States Green Building Council. He is passionate about urban regeneration and development in the context of the Caribbean and the wider community and aims to continually improve his understanding of the built environment and the societies served.

Mr. Bayne holds a Masters in Management from the University of Bath, School of Management, UK and a B.Sc. (Hons) Civil Engineering from South Bank University - London, UK. He also has formal training in the practical use of the 1999 FIDIC Conditions of Contract for EPC Turnkey Projects and Plant & Design-Build Contracts from the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (Fédération Internationale Des Ingénieurs-Conseils (FIDIC)) and procurement drafting from the Caribbean Procurement Institute located in Trinidad.

Lebrechtta Hesse-Bayne

Lebrechtta Nana Oye Hesse-Bayne is the Founder and Executive Director of Shidaa Sustainable Development Solutions Ltd. (SSDS) and a Director of Shidaa Consulting Ltd. Professionally known by her middle name, Nana is a Social Economist and Gender Expert with over eighteen years international experience, acquired in countries such as Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Ghana, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. She gained her experience while working with Governments, NGOs and International Organizations.

Prior to SSDS, Nana worked with the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator’s Office in Trinidad and Tobago where she provided technical assistance to the UN Resident Coordinator and UN Country Management Team on Joint UN Development projects, works plans and programmes including the coordination and development of the UN’s 2014-2015 Development Assistance Framework for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.

Her technical competencies are in social policy development, strategic planning, social and gender impact assessments, the development and conduction of social development surveys, results based management, research, proposal writing, monitoring & evaluation, social science trainings and workshop facilitation. She has worked on the broad thematic areas of Poverty Reduction, Citizen Security, Gender & Development, Sexual Reproductive Health, Governance, Women’s Political Participation, Economic Empowerment, Disaster Risk Reduction, Social Statistics, Energy, Education, Communication for Development, Knowledge Management, Youth related issues and Sustainable Livelihoods.

Nana holds an Executive Certificate in Leading Successful Social Programs: Using Evidence to Assess Effectiveness from Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government, USA, a Master of Economics degree in Development Management, specializing in poverty reduction and sustainable livelihoods from the University of Wales, UK and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and French with a Minor in Pre-Law from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, USA.
